SOTECC strobe provides a new level of visibility. With its 16 built-in powerful and at the same time power-saving LEDs, the SOTECC strobe is a real support for airspace surveillance. At the same time it offers the possibility to be integrated into the existing canopy flasher connectBOX system. All functions can be found here. . After a testing phase of almost two years we are satisfied with the shown performance and meanwhile a considerable number of strobes could be delivered.

Testing

Practical tests are simply indispensable in aviation. Only in this way have we been able to develop an efficient solution that provides the optimum intersection between visibility and power consumption. This is where the advantage of a longer development period becomes apparent, as it became clear that a higher number of LEDs, for example, did not result in a significant increase in visibility, but did unnecessarily increase power consumption.

Height – small, bright and aerodynamic

Our SOTECC-strobe fits on almost any glider imaginable. On the back of the fuselage or on the underside of the aircraft, it cuts a fine figure and thus ensures all-round visibility. With only 15 mm height it is the optimal combination of safety and aerodynamics. Installation is in accordance with EASA specifications and can be carried out quickly and easily. Our documentation contains all the necessary information.

Operating time with one battery*

The question of power consumption often arises with electronic devices in gliders. ACL systems were, until not too long ago, reserved for engine-powered aircraft only, as these can generate power through alternators. Typically, incandescent bulbs were used, which could only be powered by a battery for a very short time, if at all. The development of LEDs (light-emitting diode) has made it possible to use anti-collision lights on battery power, even for very long flights. Our example shows the operating time of our strobe connected to the standard glider battery with 10 Ah.

Plug and Play

The SOTECC strobe comes with prefabricated connectors and the correct cable lengths, as well as all connections. The installation into the glider can be done with screws or the extremely strong 3M adhesive tape, laser cut by SOTECC, can be fixed to the fuselage. FAQ

I want to install the strobe in my glider, but I have concerns about power consumption?

The power consumption is as low as possible and has never been lower ever before due to a new and intelligent control unit and the modern LED technique. The average power consumption of about 100 mA is comparable to a 57mm colour display.

I am not technically skilled. Is it difficult to install the strobe?

We supply a very detailed installation instruction, cotaining several pictures and step by step instructions for a fast and easy mounting.

How long does it take to install the strobe?

Depending on your type of glider, two, up to three hours overall.

I there any other LED colour available?

Yes, white LEDs are also available. But we strongly recommend red LED, as the red colour stands out much better than white. Red is a true eye-catcher in all weather conditions.
